dance

I dance because it keeps me aware of my own mortality and because it lets me share a flexible reality. In dance I live the aesthetic and social experiences as one thing.

Themes of my works are migration, the body as a public element, transition, territory, public space research. I slowly start creating from physicality as a point of departure as in my new work: Bounce Me, based on bouncing movements and dreaming.

Some of my works can be performed as installations while others are meant to be performed on stage but always inhabiting the specific new space in which it happens.

Dance as my main tool dialogues with multisenory material enriching the work by my own visual creations as well as by the collaborations with artists on diverse disciplines.

My understanding of dance and the way of creating through it has been greatly inspired by my work with Julyen Hamilton and Trisha Brown as well as my long collaborations with musician Marcos Baggiani and visual artist Edgar Jansen among many others.
