temporary inhabitants

Temporary Inhabitants is a dance installation for seven dancers created by The Meeting Point in the context of the Temporary Home in Kassel, Germany, during the period of Documenta 12.

The space propossed as an alternative home for artists in Kassel during the mega exhibition of Documenta 12 , gathered audiences and artists of all backgrounds. As the gathering place of such a diversified community, The Meeting Point propossed there the experience of the body as a by passer through the existing art exhibitions, giving the place a new layer of experienced emotional and physical history.

The house, part of a former hospital, rented especially for this period counted with seven different rooms, a kitchen and a toilet.

The performance developed through simultaneus events happening in the different rooms designed and performed by each dancer, each space created a different and very specific story and by moving through the spaces, dancers moved the stories and the audience from one reality to the other. Audience able to move through stories at their own pase, experienced the meaning in diverse ways and relationships as they made their own individual choices, transforming and affecting the spaces they went through by their own presence.
